76% EU GOALS: Chelsea will be most affected by Brexit

Published on: 30 March 2017

Chelsea could be the club most affected by Brexit after UK Prime Minister Theresa May triggered Article 50 on Wednesday, according to The Sun.

The United Kingdom have formally begun their process of withdrawing from the European Union and the historic move is certainly set to have a major impact in many sectors in the nation as well as for the entire continent of Europe.

A 'heavy' Brexit is expected to have ramifications in British football as well and The Sun have predicted that Premier League leaders Chelsea could be the Premier League club most affected by the exit of the UK from the EU as the Blues have depended on European players for a whopping 76% of their goals during the current campaign.

It remains unclear as to how Brexit will negatively affect English clubs from fielding EU players during matches and the report from The Sun merely seems to outline Chelsea's dependency on players with European passports.
