AC Milan's 17-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has emerged as a possible transfer target for Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

The teenager has broken through to become the Rossoneri's first-choice stopper despite his age and Madrid have reportedly sat up and took notice of his rapid development.

According toSport, Florentino Perez is a fan of the goalkeeper who has been anointed the heir to Buffon's place in the Italy national squad, with Donnarumma becoming Italy's youngest player in over 100 years when he made his international debut against France last week.

However, Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane - who reportedly clashed with Perez over transfer targets in the summer - is said to be keen on making his 18-year-old son Luca the successor to Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu.

Donnarumma spoke about his overwhelming pride in making his Italy debut following the 3-1 defeat to France in Bari.

It's indescribable. I thank Coach [Giampiero] Ventura for this opportunity and my debut. I am really quite emotional about it, Donnarumma told Rai Sport.

"Buffon told me to stay calm, do what I know and to have fun," Donnarumma said. "It's a new era, we are at the disposal of the Coach and in four days we'll try to do better in [the World Cup qualifier against] Israel.

Donnarumma was beaten at his near post by Layvin Kurzawa but the youngster is not getting too held up with talk of any mistakes yet.

"We'll analyse the goal tomorrow with the Coach," the youngster said.
