Former AC Milan defender Gianluca Zambrotta has warned Manchester City that his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is just as good as Lionel Messi and Neymar, as reported intheDaily Mail.

Ahead of the first Manchester derby of the season on Saturday, Zambrotta has spoken of the threat that Ibrahimovic poses against Pep Guardiola's side, and has warned them that the 34-year-old is just as lethal as some of the best finishers in the game:

"He is a winner everywhere he goes. He compares with the best players at the moment like Suarez and Neymar.

"I played with him twice and he's a good professional and has good motivation. I have always liked him."

Zambrotta played with Ibrahimovic at both AC Milan and FC Barcelona, and the Swedish striker could make history by becoming the first player to win a domestic league title in five different countries should he help Manchester United win the title this year.

Ibrahimovic has also been stoking the fire ahead of the Manchester derby by sending a message, via social media, to City's newly signed keeper Claudio Bravo.

According toSky Sports, the former Paris Saint-Germain striker was videoed boxing and packaging some training gear which would be sent to Bravo, and captioned the video: "Welcome to Manchester! Here's some training gear, you're gonna need it. See you Saturday."

Both sides boast a 100% record in the league after starting with three straight wins, however, one of these is bound to be broken as Jose Mourinho prepares to invite his rival Guardiola to Old Trafford for the first time.
