Aduana Stars defender Daniael Darkwa is on the verge of joining FA Cup winners Kumasi Asante Kotoko after refusing to extend his stay in Dormaa.

The Black Stars B left back is reported to be in Kumasi to complete the switch after being left out of Aduana Stars squad for the CAF Champions League.

The versatile player had an outstanding season in the last campaign that saw him earn a call up to the national team. He was Captain of the Black Stars B in the CHAN qualifiers before relinquishing the position to Isaac Twum at the WAFU Cup of nations.

Daniel Darkwa was a key member of the Aduana Stars team that won the League last season, playing several of the clubs games as they clinched their second GPL title.

The 29 year old was reported to be on the radar of several Major League Soccer sides midway last season but stayed on to win the league.

His arrival in Kumasi will mean, he joins the likes of Mohammed Sylla, Michael Abu, Emmanuel Owusu and Jordan Opoku ahead of the upcoming season.
