Aduana Stars prolific striker, Bright Adjei, insists he will pick up the best player award for the 2016/2017 season after missing out last season.

The former Tema Youth forward earned global fame when he won two CNN goal of the week award while playing in the Ghana Premier league with Aduana.

Adjei scored a cycle kick for Aduana away to Ashgold in Obuasi to edge out Luis Suarez for CNN goal of the week.

His performance aided the Dorman based Aduana Stars to a second place finish last season in the Elite Ghana football league with pundits ticking him to win the best player award but he unfortunately missed out.

Speaking to the media after the sports awards night, Adjei revealed his disappointment but hinted at taking the award in the upcoming season.

“Of course I am disappointed not to have won the player of the season award or even to be nominated at the end of the season.”

“I will still give all to God and play to win the award next year with the right preparation and concentration across the whole season.“

Liberty Professionals forward, Latif Atta Blessing, scooped both the top scorer award and the best player gong to edged out Bright Adjei.
