The club won the 2017 Ghana premier league in a big season that saw them go unbeaten at home but what has followed after one year are crisis and chaos.
The Ghanaian champions were dumped out of the CAF champions league by ES Setif, failed to advance from the Confederation Cup group stage and were battered 6-0 by Raja Casablanca.
On top of all these were some really serious allegations Elvis Opoku made against the club last week.
Aduana Stars are in crisis.
Yusif Abubakar was sacked from his role as head coach after losing to ASEC Mimosas 1-0 in Abidjan and drawing 3-3 with Raja Casablanca in Dormaa but club sources have said his dismissal was beyond sporting reasons.
Kenichi Yatsuhashi was hired as the Messiah to stabilize the boat but things got even worse. The decision of the former Hearts of Oak trainer to hand the team’s captaincy to Yahaya Mohammed was not welcomed by all and this planted seeds of confusion and discord and the outcome were disastrous.
Kenichi did not finish the Raja Casablanca game on the technical bench and it was not because the referee sent him off, rather due to an internal Aduana Stars chaos during the course of the game.
It was a disappointing and regrettable scene in Casablanca for the Ghanaian champions humiliated 6-0 by the Moroccans.
Defender Stephen Anokye Badu was tested positive for a banned substance after the Aduana 3 Raja Casablanca 3 game in Dormaa adding to the woes of the Ogya side.
There were even moments when some Dormaa supporters threatened coach Abubakar's safety accusing him as responsible for their unsuccessful bets following a home draw against Raja.
Inside sources have also told us Aduana Stars is like trees in a forest. They appear as one but a microscopic view will show they are wide apart.
And Elvis Opoku’s damning allegations and revelations against the club is a serious indication that Aduana Stars is in crisis and it must be dealt with professionally and competently before more damages are made.
