I advised GFA to move Black Stars-Rwanda game to Cape Coast

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, insists that he advised the Ghana Football Association to move the Black Stars final 2017 AFCON qualifier against Rwanda from the Accra Sports Stadium to the newly constructed Cape Coast Stadium.

According to the Minister, his suggestion was because the nature of the pitch was in a bad state which could lead to injuries of players.

However, his pleas to the GFA fell on deaf ears and the game went ahead on the bumpy pitch.

"I spoke to the President of the GFA (Kwesi Nyantakyi) to move the Black Stars games to Cape Coast since the players complain about injuries," Mr Vanderpuije said in an interview on Starr FM>

It is unclear where the Black Stars will play their 2018 World Cup qualifying games when it starts next month but it appears the Accra Sports Stadium will be a no go area.
