Deputy Captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew has hailed the performance of the local players in the Black Stars team.
Coach Kwesi Appiah invited seven local players in his thirty man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Ethiopia and the friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
The local boys in the squad include exciting Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbina, resolute Liberty defender Samuel Sarfo and Daniel Darkwa of Aduana.
The rest of the players are goalkeepers Felix Annan of Kotoko, Joseph Addo of Aduana , Richard Ofori of WA All stars and defender Nicholas Opoku of Berekum Chelsea.
"The local boys are not bad at all, some of us did not know most of them, now that we have gotten to know them, we have seen their qualities, i think in training they have proven that they can fight and be part of the Black Stars in future." He said.
The Black Stars team composed of both foreign and local players is training in Kumasi ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia on Sunday.
