Antoine Griezmann Says There's Only One Thing That Would Make Him Leave Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann says he won't give thought to leaving the Rojiblancos until Diego Simeone leaves.

The 25-year-old has scored 44 La Liga goals in the last two seasons for the Spanish outfit, also winning the Golden Boot award at Euro 16 with six goals for France during the tournament.

He has been courted by numerous suitors, including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain these last two years, but has opted to carry on at Atletico as he wants to continue learning under Simeone.

"The only doubt would be if Simeone leaves for PSG or wherever," he told Telefoot (H/TGoal.com).

"I called him before extending my contract and he confirmed to me that he was staying. I can learn a lot from him.

"PSG are not my goal at the moment. I'm happy in Spain.

"I'm always proud to be popular with the fans. I try to smile and do my best. If they like it, it's even better."

Griezmann was also thought to be a target for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, as well as Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Recent reports coming out of France claimed that Wenger was willing to break the bank to sign the player, but did not receive the backing of the board.

Mourinho, meanwhile, was left impressed with the Frenchman's performances at Euro 16, and reportedly made him a target, having tried to lure the player to Stamford Bridge during his Chelsea days.

But with Griezmann committing his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract in June, Atletico could actually keep him until it expires - as long as Simeone remains at the helm, that is.
