Arsenal want Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial in exchange for Alexis Sanchez.
The Daily Star says Sanchez looked certain to join Manchester City this month.
But United have thrown a spanner in the works by making a move of their own for Arsenal's Chilean superstar.
The Gunners won't sell Sanchez until a replacement is found.
And with that in mind the north London club asked for French star Martial in exchange.
United are unlikely to be open to losing Martial meaning they could have stump up around £35m in cash instead to try and persuade Arsenal into a sale.
