Arsenal Flop Mathieu Debuchy Set for Emirates Exit With Valencia Likely Destination

Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy is reportedly on his way out of the Emirates this summer with La Liga outfit Valencia front-runners in securing his services, according to Spanish publicationDeporte Valenciano.

The former Newcastle United defender has found opportunities in the starting eleven at a premium since his 2014 move to the Emirates for a reported fee of £12m. A spate of untimely injuries have been central to those limited opportunities with the 30-year-old making just 12 Premier League appearances since the summer of 2014.

Whilst Debuchy can point to niggling injuries that have hampered his time in North London, the unearthing of Hector Bellerin and the subsequent mature performances from the youngster thathave put the Frenchman's Arsenal career in serious jeopardy.

In February this year, the former Lille defender was sent on loan to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux where he performed adequately in his nine appearances.

But according to Deporte Valenciano, a permanent move is imminent. Valencia are reportedly in need of a new right-back with current right-back Antonio Barragan expected to leave the Mestalla this summer.

Debuchy has been identified as an ideal replacement for the Spaniard but it is understood the Valencia hierarchy will be asking for a cut-price deal in light of the Frenchman's injury history.

While the deal for the right-back is likely to be thrashed out with the La Liga outfit, the Gunners have made it clear any potential deal for Bellerin with La Liga champions Barcelona will not be happening.

Rumours have been circulating that the Catalan giants are eyeing the possibly of re-signing the pacey defender but it is understood Arsenal are not willing to entertain any offers with Bellerin himself happy to remain in north London.
