Internazionalecentre-back Jeison Murillo has been linked with a move to Arsenal, as the Gunners look to reinforce their defensive line-up for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

According to theMirror, via Sky Italia, talks regarding a transfer between the two clubs have already taken place, and Arsenal are hoping to wrap up a £15m deal at some point during the next two weeks.

With defenders Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel all looking stretched at various and frequent times during the past season, Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his centre-back options with the signing of 24-year-old Murillo, who is also a Colombia international and started in all of his country's Copa America games this summer.

Inter have not held talks with Murillo, 24, regarding a new contract, despite the Colombian enjoying a relatively successful season and only signing for the San Siro club in February 2015.

Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny is set to miss the beginning of the season following France's run to the final during Euro 2016this summer, and Arsenal are keen to recruit a centraldefender sooner rather than later, as Calum Chambers would be the only cover for Per Mertesacker or Gabriel should one of them get injured or become unavailable.

Murillo joined Inter from Spanish side Granada in February 2015 for a fee of€10m, and made 34 appearances in theSerie A this season, contributing two goals and one assist.

Inter finished fourth in the league, 13 points behind third placedChampions League qualifying side Roma, and 24 points behind champions Juventus.
