Assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, Akakpo Patron has been at Adu Gyamfi Senior High School [SHS] in search of five players who performed brilliantly at the just ended Ashanti top eight competition.
The technical team of the Porcupine Warriors have targeted Samuel Amankwah, Evans Osei, Godfred Scholes and two other players and should negotiations go well, the players will join the Youth team of Asante Kotoko.
Confirming this on Silver FM, the Sports Master of Adu Gyamfi SHS, Mike Opoku expressed satisfaction with the development of the young footballers and the prospects of them playing for Kotoko and called on Management team of the club to pay proper attention to their youth team.
“Yes, they came in. I made it known to them that they’re making me realise my ambition of letting my players play for Kotoko. I’m happy Kotoko are building their juvenile team with young talents.
"It’s my boys from Adu Gyamfi. A club like Kotoko should make their juvenile side a thick one to ensure smooth trajectory from youth football to the senior side” said the Sports Master.
Adu Gyamfi SHS has produced some good players like Wahab Adams and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi currently with Kotoko; Masahudu Suleiman, Benjamin Boateng and Kingsley Sarfo of Swedish side, Malmo FF.
