Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold have signed a sponsorship deal with betting company, Betway, worth $ 600,000 over a two-year period.
According to a Starr sports report the deal will among other things help make the miners competitive on the African continent.
The club has also struggled to keep pace with the modern world of football business due to lack of funds.
Their woes deepened this season after they a 50 percent cut in their budget, a situation that affected their campaign in the CAF Champion’s league and their Ghana premier league title defense.
Betway has been operating in Ghana for the past 12 months.
Betway is a global online gambling company providing entertainment in Europe and in Africa.
