The Ghana Football Association has debunked reports stating that Black Stars coach Avram Grant has named a squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifier in October. Kumasi based radio station Fox FM reported on Wednesday that Hearts of Oak duo Samudeen Ibrahim and Patrick Razak have been called up by Grant who has been monitoring the league for the impending World Cup qualifier.
But Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Saani Daara has debunked those reports.
According to him, although Grant has been monitoring players in the Ghana league, the Israeli trainer has not named any squad.
“Those reports are untrue, Grant has not named any player in any squad so I really don’t know where this is coming from,” he said
“Grant has been monitoring the league and I guess we have all been seeing him at match venues, but the fact that we have seen him does not mean he has selected some players.”
