Barcelona Consider Suing Santos for Allowing Gabriel Barbosa to Join Inter Milan

Barcelona are considering suing Santos after the Brazilian club controversially allowed Gabriel Barbosa to complete a move to Inter Milan when the Catalans were believed to have first refusal of the striker.

Goal report that Brazilian newspaper Globo EsporteclaimLuis Enrique's side struck an agreement with their counterparts in 2013 with Barbosa, dubbed the next Neymar, in a deal that would allow Barcelona the chance to ponder a move for the forward before other offers were considered.

Whilst Santos fulfilled the requirements following 'Gabigol's' participation at the Olympic Games by sending the relevant paperwork on August 29th, the Spanish side believe the documents were not detailed enough and did not give them authorisationfor a deal to be completed.

A solitary day later, the Brazilian striker completed his move to the San Siro after signing for Frank De Boer's Inter Milan, in a move that has enraged Nou Camp chiefs.

The club are now believed to be considering their position, and are set to complain to FIFA about a deal that they believe has breached the contract of 2013 and therefore are owed compensation.

At just 20 years of age, Gabigol has penned a five-year-deal with the Nerazzuri, whilst Barcelona will continue to rely on the goalscoring exploits of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Gabigol's fellow gold-medal winner Neymar after failing to land their long term target.

Barcelona previously held a strong relationship with the Brazilian club, with a number of high profile players, most notably Neymar, making the move across from South America to the Nou Camp.
