Bayern Munich Forward Kingsley Coman Out Indefinitely After Training Injury

Published on: 17 August 2016

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has been ruled out for an indefinite period after he suffered an ankle injury on Wednesday, according to Gazzetta World.

The Frenchman appeared to collide with Javi Martinez during a routine training session, but stayed down and had to be stretchered off.

Coman will be sidelined for an indefinite period and is definitely out of the early matches of the new season, read a statement on Bayern's website.

Questions have been raised in recent weeks over Coman's future at Bayern, given that the winger is still on loan from Italian champions Juventus.

Bayern had made it clear to Juventus that they wanted to sign Coman on a permanent deal, with a deal having been agreed between the two parties.

The total deal is expected to cost the German side €21m, with the first payment due in April 30, 2017.

While Munich had made it clear they were happy to make the first payment ahead of time, Coman's injury is expected to slow down talks.

Although a deal is expected to be completed, the delay certainly isn't good news for Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta, who also has to deal with the breakdown in talks between Simone Zaza and Wolfsburg.

Bayern Munich got off to a perfect start under new manager Carlo Ancelotti with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the German super cup on Sunday.

Munich are heavily expected to dominate the Bundesliga this season, and all eyes will be on how the German champions will fare in the Champions League this season.
