Black Maidens thrash Gambia 5-1 to take early advantage

The Black Maidens of Ghana beat their Gambian counterparts 5-1 to take the early advantage in the FIFA U-17 Women's world cup qualifiers. 

Forward Mukrama Abdulai scored five times with Fatouma Sowe grabbing a consolation for the Gambians.

The Ghanaians began the game in a terrific manner with Captain Mukarama bagging a double brace in the first half.

However, Gambia had to pull one back before the blast of the foirst half whistle when Fatoumata Sowe scored to send the side into the break with the results 4-1.

With the Ghanaians firmly in control after the first half, they bossed the game, controlled proceeding and deadly attacker Mukarama put the final nail in Gambia's coffin with a fine strike.

Ghana will welcome the same opponents in a fortnight time for the return leg.
