Ghana's female under-20 national team, the Black Princesses have been nominated for the best women's national team for the upcoming CAF Awards to be held in Accra.
The Black Princess will face stern competition from the Kenya female national team, South Africa Women’s National team, Zimbabwe Women’s National team and the Nigeria U20 Women’s National team.
The Ghanaian team has been impressive this year following their ruthless run in the FIFA Under-20 world cup qualifiers, where they beat both Algeria and Kenya to a 20-1 aggregate scoreline.
The Black Princesses are on the verge of another World Cup appearance but would have to clear the last hurdle presented in Cameroon.
The Princesses have been at the World Cup on four occasions and look favourite to scoop the award despite the competition from Nigeria.
Meanwhile, this will be the third time Ghana have earned nomination for the Women’s National team of the year.
