Black Queens Captain Elizabeth Addo has joined American topflight side Seattle Reign from Swedish side Kvarnsveden.

The 24 year old joins the club after spending two successful seasons in Sweden where she emerged as one of the best in the League. Last season she paired up front with Tabitha Chawinga for Kvarnsveden, registering nine goals and eight assists.

Her performances attracted interest from several clubs, but the American side were a good option for her as she got drafted to the club.

Addo, who was earlier linked to a move to Boston Breakers, becomes the third African in the league.

South African Janine van Wyk currently suits up for Houston Dash and Nigerian Francisca Ordega is on loan at Atletico Madrid from Washington Spirit.

The move comes ahead of a busy year for the Black Queens who are set to feature in the WAFU Women’s Cup next month.

Later in the year, Ghana will host the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations, which will double as the CAF qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup.
