Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe insists she was a role model to her players

Stop gab coach for the Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has applauded her players after winning the 2018 WAFU Women Championship tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.

According to the former Black Queens defender, the players put a lot in the competition to be victorious adding that, the team’s good effort plus her exemplary leadership contributed to their achievement.

Speaking on Kumasi based OTEC FM, the first-ever female national team coach disclosed that, their triumph has shot the team to greater heights on the minds of Ghanaians ahead of the 2018 Women’s AFCON to be hosted by Ghana later this year.

“I was a role model to the ladies in Cote D’Ivoire. They all looked after me in most of the things during the tournament and by reaching the topmost level of women’s football in the country, they also wanted to do something to bring names to their career just like mine” he said.
