Ghana under-17 captain, Eric Ayiah is optimistic of the Black Starlets chances as they prepare ahead of the world cup in India, later this year.

The team are in camp at the Ghana Soccer Center of excellence where they have been practicing ahead of the world cup which starts on the 6th of October and ends on the 26th of that same month.

The Black Starlets have been drawn in a tricky group with host India, Colombia from South America and the United States.

But the 17 year old is confident of a smooth passage in the group as well as making a mark at the world cup.

“We must work harder so as to have a successfully tournament. It wouldn’t be that easy but considering our experience in past tournament we will thrive.

“USA remains our biggest threat in the group, despite the massive support Indian might receive I think we can ease past them, We believe our hard work in camp currently would prove beneficial when the tournament kicks start in October,” Eyiah said in an interview.

The two times champions are chasing a third title since winning the second in 1995 and are returning to the tournament after a decade of absence.
