President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi is optimistic the Black Starlets can win the FIFA under-17 World Cup to be held in India next month.

Ghana have been drawn in group A with host India, South Americans Colombia and the United States.

The team has been preparing at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in the last two months and will leave the country to continue with preparations in the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has beefed up his squad with players from WAFA and the right to dream Academy.

President of the Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi insists these players bring the needed quality to win the World Cup.

“The Starlets have the quality to win the World Cup after some of the players were released by their clubs to join the team.

"I believe they will improve the quality of the team as they prepare to win the competition for the third time for the country," he said in an interview with the Graphic Sports.

Ghana have won the competition twice with the last time being in 1995.

The team is returning to the tournament after ten years of absence and Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin wants to end Ghana’s 22 year wait for the trophy.
