Players of the Black Starlets team have been promised $5000 each should they win the total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017.

Ghana are in the semi-finals of the competition after topping their Group with wins over Cameroon and Gabon as well as a draw with Guinea.

The Black Starlets are chasing their first Cup of Nations title in 18 years and will take on Le Mena Cadets of Niger at Stade de Port Gentil on Wednesday 14:00 GMT.

Ahead of their game, Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah has motivated the players with the promise of paying them $5,000 should they beat Niger and eventually lift the trophy.

The two-time champions only came close to win the title in 2005 where they lost to the Gambia in the finals.
