Black Stars B goalkeeper’s trainer insists they must not get complacent against Mali

Goalkeeper’s trainer of the home based national team, the Black Stars B insists the team must stay focus ahead of the group A clash with the Eagles of Mali on Saturday.

Ghana defeated Guinea on Thursdays to top group A, after Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Sarfo and Hearts of Oak attacker Kwame Kizito had netted for the Black Stars.

Following a sloppy start to the tournament, the Black Stars B bounced back strongly to produce an impressive performance against the Syli national.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper’s trainer of the team, Issah Najahu says despite the win against the Guineans the team must not get carried away by the victory but should rather focus on the next game against Mali.

”The impressive performance against Guinea didn’t give us more than three points and we just have to put the jubilation mood on hold and push for the next win which will surely see us into the last four teams. We just have to respect the teams and play as though our stay in the competition depended solely on that match.

”A win over Mali in the next match will play down the Nigeria clash in the last group game as we progress further in the competition. We just have to respect Mali at least for what they have done in the tourney so far”, Issah Najahu told Sports Crusader.

Mali held the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their opening game after a blistering start to the tournament, when they beat Mauritania by 3-1.

However, a win over the Malians on Saturday will put Ghana through to the semifinals of the WAFU competition.
