Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is keen to see how the summer market changes will work.
It opens at midnight today (May 17) and closes at 5pm on August 9 – instead of August 31, which it has in previous years.
Howe told the Daily Echo: “It will be an interesting summer. I don't think you ever quite truly know how things will unfold until it's there and it's happened.
“It will be difficult with the World Cup and players coming back late from that, and how that will affect transfers.
“Historically, I think World Cups have always delayed transfers as players want to focus on their matches – a good World Cup can mean one thing and a bad one can mean another for a player.
“Usually, they want to wait until after that tournament before deciding their futures."
He added: “Of course, now the English clubs all fall in line.
“The Football League deadline is another thing to consider and the other leagues not conforming to that deadline will mean a very interesting tussle between the foreign clubs and ourselves.
“It's very difficult for me to give any clear idea on what will happen, I think we will have to wait and see."
