Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa chose a move to Milan with Inter because the club showed more interest than Juventus, according to his agent.

He claimed that the three-timeEuropean Cup winners had a 'marvellous' project and this was a huge factor in his move to Europe.

Inter were involved in a tussle for the Brazilian sensation, who is known simply as 'Gabigol' and has been hailed as the 'next Neymar', with current Italian champions Juventus, but it was the Nerazzurri who secured his services from Santos.

Gabigol's agent, Wagner RiberiotoldRadio Bandeirantesthat:Juve had only advanced a proposal and were awaiting our answer, nobody came to speak with us, while with Inter we can already perceive a certain warmth.

"The president came for dinner and said he wanted to meet Gabriel so that he could persuade him [to join them]. The new owners told me that they want to do with Inter what has already been done with Manchester City and Chelsea.

"Their project is marvellous and Gabriel will be one of its great protagonists. He wants to turn Inter into the greatest team in Europe.

"They signed Joao Mario for €45m and Gabriel is the second name they turned to. Frank de Boer himself looked up the player and wanted to speak with him. The Coach was an important factor in our decision. He asked Gabigol about the way he prefers to play, so he could favour his integration into the team.

The forward played 83 times for Santos scoring 24 goals, despite being just 20-years-old and has four caps for Brazil.
