C.K AKunor reveals talks with Ashantigold for a return as head Coach of the club

Former Black Stars Captain Charles Kwabena Akunor has revealed talks is ongoing between him and Ashantigold over a return to the Club as head Coach for the upcoming season. 

Coach Akunor helped the miners to avoid relegation last season after joining them from Dreams FC in the second half, when the Obuasi-based Club were on the verge of being relegated.

However, the former Hearts of Oak Coach had to return to his parent Club, Dreams FC at the end of the season.

Dreams FC returned to the Ghana Premier League after winning Zone III of the Division One league under the tutelage of Coach Karim Zito and Winfred Dormon.

The future of the former Black Stars  Captain at Dreams remains uncertain, with the club unable to official announce whether Akunor will be in charge next season.

Meanwhile, Coach Charles Akunor revealed there are talks with Ashantigold, a club he played for during the early nineties, to return as head Coach.

“Well am back with Dreams FC but not as a coach," he told Starr Sports

“I am part of the family but I have started talking to Ashgold which means that if everything goes well, I will go back to Ashantigold.

Akunor traveled to Scotland to under study former Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers on an internship programe at the end of the season, claiming he has returned well equipped for his managerial career.

Meanwhile Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold will gladly welcome C.K Akunor back to their fold after indicating earlier the player surprised them following his  performance with the miners.

“You know when your Coach leaves; the ability to make a quick fix is difficult but I tell you C.K Akunor surprised us,” he told Happy FM.

“C.K Akunor is a young coach and he is now climbing up the ladder but he has a big heart,

“How he works is special, when we playing a game he attaches everything to it, he is a true professionals and he must be praised."

Ashantigold gold have set December 26th as the date for the resumption of Preseason.
