French Ligue 1 side Caen are ready to hijack Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris's move to Portuguese side FC Porto.

The Ghana international has emerged on the radar of the 2004 Champions league winners, with reports from the Iberian country indicating the Lorient forward could be joining in the coming days.

However, Caen who have already shown interested in another Ghanaian striker, Patrick Twumasi look set to interrupt the move, as they plan talks with the striker.

According to reports in France Lorient are ready to let the striker leave for a good price and Caen look a close a good destination for Waris.

Abdul Majid Waris has consistently featured in the transfer market, and was close to leaving in the summer after club in England including West Ham United and Brighton came asking for the player.

But Lorient were not ready to listen to offers leaving the player hugely frustrated.

The 25 year old former BK Hacken forward was disappointed following the club's demotion to the Ligue II last season, despite scoring in the play offs, and netting 9 times in the second half of the season.

His compatriot, Alhassan Wakaso however, left in the summer transfer window to Victoria Guimaraes.
