CAF Confederation Cup: Yahaya Mohammed believes Aduana Stars will cope without him

Aduana Stars skipper Yahaya Mohammed says his absence will not affect the team in their must-win clash against Asec Mimosas in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The Ogya lads will host Ivorian side Asec Mimosas at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Sunday on Match Day 5 of the continent's second-tier club competition.

The Ghana Premier League champions will head into the encounter without the service of their influential captain Yahaya Mohammed through suspension.

The absence of the experience forward leaves the Dormaa-based side with Bright Adjei as the only recognized striker following the departure of Nathaniel Asamoah and Derrick Sasraku, who is on the verge of penning a deal with Slovakian side MSK Zilina.

"My absence won't affect Aduana Stars in the game against Asec Mimosas because we have a solid team," Yahaya told Hello FM.

"We have what it takes to defeat Asec and at all cost they will not leave Dormaa Ahenkro with even a point. The supporters are aware of the task ahead so they will fill the stadium to intimidate the visitors with their extraordinary chants," he said.

"After this game, we will do our best to pick a win against Raja Casablanca in Morocco in order to qualify to the knockout stage. Raja were able to draw with us in the first leg, so it is possible we can also upset them, so we're aiming at six points from the remaining two games," he added.

Currently, Aduana Stars are third in the group with four points, three points behind leaders Raja.
