Charles Taylor blast Kotoko players for CAF Confederations Cup exit

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko schemer Charles Taylor has blasted the players for the team's inability to progress in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors were eliminated by CARA Brazzaville of Congo 6-7 on penalties after drawing 1-1 on aggregate.

However, Charles Taylor who was a member of the losing team in the final in 2004 blamed the players for the early exit in the competition.

“The players are not playing for the team but individually because they(players) do not have the team (Kotoko) at heart,” he told Metro FM.

“There is no maturity in the level of play in the players and I think Dr Kyei should sack all the players and bring committed players into the team.”

He added: “The current players at Kotoko are not committed and they are only concentrated on the money and promises been promised them.

“There is no seriousness in the players and is about time the management and supporters tell the players their mind.”

Kumasi Asate Kotoko have not progress past the second round in their last five attempts in Africa in the past since they reached the final in 2004.

Following another disappointing African campaign, the Reds will shift their attention to the domestic league and try to defend their FA Cup.
