Chelsea striker Diego Costa Atletico Madrid hopes hit by FIFA regulation

Chelsea striker Diego Costa's move to Atletico Madrid is stalling.

The Spanish outfit are banned from signing any new players until January.

But Atleti thought they found a potential loophole with Diego Costa by securing his signature and then loaning him out until he can be officially be registered as their player in the New Year.

But the Daily Mail claim Atletico cannot do this as FIFA outline that a player must be registered first before he can be loaned out.

This will spell bad news for Costa as he could now be at risk of facing six months of inactivity.

Atleti are reluctant to pay anymore than £20m for Costa, which is way off Chelsea's valuation for him.
