Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin insists the presence of scouts is affecting his team’s performance

Head Coach of the national under-17 team, the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin has revealed the presence of scouts is affecting the performance of his players.

The former Hearts of Lions Coach indicated the players get distracted by the prospects of scouts watching them, with most of them wanting to impress for European clubs.

Paa Kwesi Fabin is not happen with the situation insists the flow of play is affected by the presence of scouts.

“It is something that really bothers us, because when they see that the scouts are around everybody wants to impress. Sometimes, when a player has the ball and somebody else is in a better position to score, they don’t pass to the one in a better position because everyone wants to score in order to be recognized,

“It is a big problem for us so we are hoping that the players will understand that it is only when you play well together that the agents or scouts will come and look for you and not when you are selfish or trying to do everything by yourself. That will not help anyone,” he said in an interview.

Ghana are through to the round of 16 after topping group A, following an impressive win against India.

Meanwhile, the team had a shaky start to the FIFA under-17 world Cup, defeating Colombia by a goal to nil and losing to U.S.A.

Ghana are poised on winning a third world cup trophy since they last won it in 1995.
