Coach Yusif Basigi relishes Black Princesses challenge

Newly appointed Black Princesses Coach, Yusif Basigi says he expects a much tougher challenge at his new role, despite his huge experience of handling the Black Queens.

Coach Yusif Basigi was appointed new head coach of the national under-20 female team earlier this week after five years with the Black Queens.

The former Sekoindi Hasaacas coach led the Black Queens to All Africa games glory by winning gold and placing third at the Africa Women’s Championship in Cameroon last year.

With his enormous experience of handling the senior female national team, Basigi believes taking up the job at the junior level will be quite challenging looking at the age variations.

“It’s true that I have been appointed though I have not received an appointment letter, I will say that yes its confirmed. However, its a welcoming news for me. This is a new challenge that I have to go through,” he told Citi FM.

“I’m saying this because, unlike Black Queens where you have no age limit. But, coming down to princesses, you have to deal with age categories. So you need know the age limit that is due for every competition.”

Coach Yusif Basigi is expected to qualify the Black Princesses for the FIFA world Cup as well as build a formidable team that will graduate to make a strong Black Queens team.
