Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei was on target for his club side TP Mazembe in their premier league game with AS Vita on Wednesday.
Adjei's goal in the opening minutes settled the tie and handed Mazembe their 16th title.
A win for any could have secured the title, however, even a draw would have been enough to hand Mazembe the title as they enjoyed a superior goal difference.
Adjei dedicated the title and goal to victims of last Wednesday’s accident.
This becomes Nii Adjei’s third Congolese championship title since joining from Ghanaian outfit Asante Kotoko in 2013.
Adjei's teammates from Ghana; Solomon Asante and Yaw Frimpong all played a part in the game for Mazembe.
