Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s skipper, Amos Frimpong, has described his side’s Premier League encounter against Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium today as the turning point of their quest to win the title.

The Kumasi-based club are currently fourth on the league table with 39 points, while Aduana Stars are second with 40 points and Frimpong believes victory over Aduana Stars would affirm the club’s target of winning the title.

Meanwhile, Frimpong, who is also the regular right-back for the local Black Stars, sees today’s clash as one of the most difficult tests in their search for the title but remains confident that his team can only be considered as title contenders if they win today.

The 25-year-old told the Graphic Sports that the team was fully focused on securing all three points today to boost their chance of reclaiming the title.

“We are very ready for Aduana Stars. I must say this game will really determine our chances of winning the league title. Coach Osei has spoken to us relating to the game henceforth if we can win against Aduana Stars, then we can call ourselves league contenders,” he said.

“The playing body is really focused on winning the title for our loyal fans who have been patient with us, and I urge them to come and witness good football from Kotoko,” he added.

Frimpong attributed the current impressive performance of the team to the motivation often provided by Coach Michael Osei.
