Duncan wins 2016 Best Ghanaian footballer in Italy award

Black Stars midfielder, Alfred Duncan has been awarded the best Ghanaian footballer in Serie A by Italian-based Ghanaian sports firm FAVANS SPORTZ.

The sports firm lauded the 23-year-old for his outstanding performances last season in the Serie A for his team Sassuolo.

He helped Sassuolo qualify for the Europa league first time in their history after their promotion to the Serie A only three years ago.

The former Inter Milan enforcer saw-off fellow Black Stars team mates Agyemang Badu and last year's winner Afriyie Acquah to win the gong.

The best Ghanaian Serie B player of the year went to Ransford Selasi who won the award for the second year running after he helped Pescara secure qualification back to Serie A.

Maxwell Acosty Boadu won the Serie B top Scorer after he bagged 7 goals during the season for Latina.

Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah who missed out the best player award was adjudged the best national team player after helping the Black Stars qualify for AFCON 2017 to be staged in Gabon.

Agyemang Badu picked the Serie A top scorer award with the four goals he netted for Udinese.

The Serie C player of the year went to Casertana midfielder Agyie Kofi Daniel whiles Cararesse young striker Emmanuel Gyasi won the Serie C top Scorer award with 6 goals.

Seventeen year old Sassoulo defender Claud Adjapong was named the discovery of the year with Moses Odjer’s stunner against Latina winning the best goal of the Season.
