Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah has jetted-off to Sweden for a trial at second-tier side Helsingborgs IF.

The Black Stars player is currently a free agent after agreeing to a mutual termination of his contract with South African giants Orlando Pirates.

The 26-year-old is capable of playing as a centre-back or defensive midfielder and was a member of Ghana’s squads at the 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Gyimah has played for Sekondi Hasaacas, All Stars, SuperSport United, Black Aces and Pirates in his club career to date.

Helsingborgs were relegated from the top flight Allsvenskan last year and currently have two African players on their first-team roster: South African Bradley Ralani and Nigerian Monday Samuel.
