Elmina Sharks owner Paa Kwesi Ndoum laments over poor promotion of the local league

Owner of Ghana Premier League side, Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum has bemoaned the poor level of promoting the Ghana Premier League by the football Association.

The business man and astute politician revealed the Ghana Football Association does not promote the local league hence the poor patronage of the country’s domestic football.

“The Ghana Football Association doesn’t promote the league, the monies that they get from FIFA they must use it to promote the league,” Dr. Nduom said on Asempa FM.

Dr. Ndoum asks the Association to invest in the Ghana Premier League by using monies from FIFA to pump some life into the “dying” Ghana Premier League. He says the Football Association is overly consumed by the national teams to the detriment of the local league.

“It is not all about the national teams, going to FIFA conference and other things. They must promote the local league.

However, Elmina Sharks have been one of the clubs that have seen massive following this season in the league and the former Minister indicates that has been possible because of how they promote their games.

“When  Elmina Sharks is about to play a game, from Wednesday we go around promoting the match using radio and TV. Because of that we do get the numbers at the stadium.

“The Ghana FA must promote the league, players and the teams, and in doing that we can get companies to sponsor the league. Without the numbers at the stadium no company would like to sponsor the league,” he said on Asempa FM.

Elmina Sharks are are 7th on the log sheet with 33 points.
