According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Empoli has made Ghana international Afriyie Acquah their prime target in the summer transfer window.
Torino ward off clubs from signing the combative midfielder in January.
However, Empoli manager Aurelio Andreazzoli is making daring attempts to lure the 26-year-old from Torino.
The midfielder remains a big part of the Tornio squad ahead of the new season, but with Empoli’s plan to return to the Serie A, the Club will be keen to add-up to their squad by signing the experienced midfielder.
Acquah has enjoyed successful stints with several Italian Clubs including Sampdoria and Parma and Palermo.
