Eric Bekoe swore never to wear Kotoko jersey again

Published on: 16 May 2018

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe has vowed never to wear the jersey of his former employers again.

the former Sekondi Hasaccas man reiterated his desire to rejoin the Porcupine Warriors at the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League campaign.

But the 31-year-old's dream was shattered after failing to impress then former trainer Steve Pollack during a two-week trial before he secured a move to join Kenyan giants AFC Leopards.

Bekoe's contract with the Leopards was mutually terminated last week - which has led to speculations that he will rejoin the Porcupine Warriors following the departure of strikers Obed Owusu, Saddick Adams and Yakubu Mohammed.

However, Bekoe sharply refuted the claims and vowed not to play for the club again for the treatment meted out to him when he attempted to join prior to the ongoing season.

"I won't play for Kotoko again. I tried coming back to Kotoko on three occasions but didn't succeed. I have had enough and won't like to join them again as a player. If it's anything different that they will need me to help fine, but as a player, I'm not ready to accept,' Bekoe told Happy FM.

'I have said Kotoko is the team I will play but with the little they have shown me after three attempts to join, I will never accept to play for Kotoko again. It's even due to their pressure that my mom even died.'

"I didn't really want to sign for the Kenyan side. My problem with Steve Polack made me do it,' Bekoe concluded.
