Former Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kuffuor has praised the leadership of the Confederation of African Football for amending the timing, size of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Executive Committee of CAF on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco resolved that the Africa Cup of Nations going forward will have 24 teams instead of 16, also the tournament will be played in June/July instead of the initial January/February date.
Sammy Kuffour thinks the changes will help promote the African game.
“I think it is good, it is going to help teams to prepare well for the competition,” he told TV3.
“Is going to help organizers and host countries to improve in Infrastructure.
“Most a times countries do not prepare well because the time is too short, two years. But with this new amendment, it will help the teams to prepare very well and we will see a good competition.”
