Ex- Hearts and Kotoko goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye buried on Sunday in Burkina Faso

Deceased former Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye has been buried in his native Burkina Faso after passing on on a Friday. 

The goalkeeper died at the University Hospital Center of Bobo-Dioulasso after  a long illness.

The 38 year old former Burkina Faso international goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama was taken to the cemetery on Sunday October 29 in Banfora,  his hometown, accompanied by friends, family members and the football fraternity.

As per Islamic laws. an Islamic prayer was said before the body was taken to the municipal cemetery around 11 o’clock.

Batieba Ouattara on behalf of former Burkina Faso footballers paid a vibrant tribute to the famous goalkeeper. For the president of the Burkinabe Football Federation Sita Sangare, he read a message from Charles Kaboré on behalf of the players of the national team.

The goalkeeper who was due to mark his 38th birthday on November 29 , was a successful footballer who played for his native club USM Banfora, ASFB before traveling to Turkey and  Algeria.

Soulama left behind him a widow and two children.
