FIFA Womens U-20 World Cup qualifiers: Black Princesses thrash Kenya 5-1 in Nairobi

A hat-trick from Ampem Darkoa striker Priscilla Adubea sent Ghana to the final round of qualifiers for the FIFA Under-20 women's world cup in France next year, after thrashing Kenya 5-1.

The Black Princesses having led the tie by 5-0 in Ghana, ensured they remain on course for another World Cup appearance after Olivia Anokye set the ball rolling with a first minute strike.

The hosts' task of a comeback was made more difficult than it already was when Adubea struck her first to double Ghana's lead in the first half.

Adubea claimed her brace at the stroke of halftime by slotting past Kenya goalkeeper Lilian Awuor who had come out of her line.

The Ampem Darkoa striker was the master assassin for the visitors, who donned their trademark white jerseys, commanding proceedings for the better part of the game.

Gentrix Shikangwa had Starlets’ first sniff at goal in the 20th minute, but Ghana goalkeeper Annan Koffie was unperturbed. Basigi was forced to make an early change after Anokye was stretchered off the pitch with an injury.

Abambila Ernestina replaced her and grabbed the team’s fourth goal in the 75th minute with a shot from the centre of the pitch before Adubea completed her hat-trick.

With two minutes to time, Muema reduced the deficit from close range.
