Fiorentina Enquire About Loan Move for Exciting Liverpool Winger

Published on: 22 July 2016

Fiorentina are the latest club to be linked with a loan move for Liverpool misfit Lazar Markovic, with no signs that the Serbian did enough while on loan at Fenerbahce last season to force himself into Jurgen Klopp's plans for the coming season.

Markovic has played some part in the Reds' pre-season friendlies as Klopp keeps him involved with the squad, but it's believed that the club have made it clear to potential suitors that the 22-year-old will be available for loan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Fiorentina have approached the Reds about a possible loan move, with the clause that they can make the move permanent for as little as€10m at the end of next season.

That fee would see Liverpool make a massive loss on the player who they bought for £20m just two seasons ago - and previous reports have made it clear that the club are unlikely to be overwhelmingly enthusiastic about that prospect.

Klopp has already delivered a thinly-veiled message to the likes of Markovic on the periphery of the squad, saying:"It makes no sense to stay in the squad and be in the squad when you don't have a real opportunity to play. When there's no chance to play, it makes absolutely no sense.

"We have a few players, maybe, who want to leave us and I'm pretty sure that will happen. And one or two more players will join us from other clubs. It's a long time until the 31st of August and we have to work a little bit."

Meanwhile, Markovic's influence has been praised by new boy Marko Grujic, who said:"Everything from the start has been perfect. The players are very friendly, I'm spending a bit of time with Lazar [Markovic] and Dejan [Lovren] - they have helped me so much, and I am so happy."
