Football Association charges West Ham with breach of anti-doping rules

West Ham are alleged to have failed to provide accurate 'club whereabouts' information.

The Football Association has announced that West Ham United have been charged with breaching its anti-doping rules.

The London club are alleged to have failed to provide accurate "club whereabouts" information three times in the last 12 months.

A statement on the official FA website said West Ham have until Feb. 27 to respond to the charge.

The "club information" rule means clubs must provide details of training sessions and player whereabouts so players are readily available for drugs tests.

A West Ham statement said: "The breach relates to administrative oversights on the FA's whereabouts system -- for example a player's address had been registered and the house number digits transposed -- and the club will be responding to the FA in due course.

"We would like to make it clear that the breach is a club administrative matter and does not concern any of our players."
