Former Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari wants to end career at GHPL

Former Ghana midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari says he would like to end his playing career in the Ghana Premier League.

The Liberty Professionals product who is currently on vacation is without a club currently after his contract with Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna expired in June.

However, the 2010 UEFA Champions League winner has been training with Hearts of Oak to keep fit, as he hopes to find a new club before the summer transfer window shuts.

Muntari featured in the Phobians friendly win over Bechem United last week at the Legon Ajax Park.

And the combative midfielder has said he would love to play for childhood club, having lived in Kumasi all his life.

“I love Kotoko. They tried signing me when l was a young player in Kumasi. I would love to retire with them, but l would not rule out Hearts, RTU, King Faisal or Liberty Professionals,” Muntari told GNA Sports

“Let’s wait for the big announcement and the new club. My agent and some clubs are talking about it so let’s see how it goes.

“At the moment, there is nothing concrete, but there are talks ongoing and if everything goes according to plan, l might be in action in the upcoming 2018-19 season,” he added.

Muntari began his career with Liberty Professionals before joining Serie A side Udinese in 2001.
