Ghanaian defender Lawrence Lartey has left South African Side Ajax Cape Town after two seasons.

The former under-20 captain left the club despite being offered a new contract, according to reports.

Lartey was a member of the 2013 under-20 team that won Bronze in Turkey and was a key figure for local side Ashantigold when they won the title in 2015 before leaving for South Africa.

“Lawrence has left Ajax, they wanted him to stay but didn’t want to stay so he left at the end of the season,” a representative of the player disclosed to Ghanasportsonline.com.

“We are working on other moves for him, we has received some good offers from Saudi and so we still talking but he is not returning to Ajax again, he is now in Ghana.”

The defender is however hoping to seal a new deal soon with offers pouring in from the gulf region including Saudi Arabia.
