GHALCA boss Kudjoe Fianoo explains reason why Baba Yara stadium was picked for President Cup

Ghana League Club’s Association boss, Kudjoe Fianoo has revealed why the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium was chosen for the 2017 President Cup.

According to the astute football Administrator the sponsors on board want to fill the stadium to its maximum capacity hence, the reason for selecting Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Accra Hearts of Oak will face Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the game that will be used to commemorate Ghana’s Republic day celebrations.

President of the League Clubs Association Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo explained the reason for selecting Baba Yara.

“The sponsors want a fully-packed stadium and they believe the Kumasi fans can do that at Baba Yara,” Fianoo told footballmadeinghana.com

“GHALCA is given GHC 50,000 to the participating teams as appearance fee for preparation. The competition is being sponsored by UBA and ANFD International.”

The Phobians will go into the game with the most hope as they have already defeated their rivals twice this season.

Meanwhile, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are holders of the title after beating Accra Hearts of oak on penalties last year.

The President of the country Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is expected to grace the occasion.
