Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has paid tribute to Ivorian midfielder Cheick Tiote following his unfortunate death on Monday.
The news first broke out of China on Monday afternoon, where the former Newcastle star is playing for Chiense second-tier side Beijing Enterprises, that he had been taken ill after training.
It appears he was subsequently rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Gyan upon hearing the news took to Twitter to reveal how devastated he was.
